Take a look through our photo gallery to see how The Vaults looks following its stunning makeover.

5. Must-visit experience
Considered a must-visit experience for whisky aficionados around the world, The Vaults has been the spiritual home of the world’s biggest whisky club, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS), since 1983. Fully accessible to members 6 days a week all year round, for the first time The Vaults now offers a special ‘member for a day’ pass available Tuesday to Thursday which can be booked by contacting the venue. 6. Retail area
In addition to the huge bar, The Vaults also features numerous new additions including: a new retail space that offers members expert guidance when purchasing their bottles; luxurious seating; an intimate whisky snug which will be used for tastings of ultra-rare whiskies and the very last drams of some of the most special bottlings ever released; and a ‘bottle keep’ for patrons who purchase a bottle of whisky and store it until a later visit. 8. On the ceiling
While the venue, which was once home to wine and spirit merchants J.G. Thomson and Co Ltd, has changed significantly, one of its most distinctive features remains untouched – the artwork covering the ceiling by illustrator Bob Dewar, which captures the story of the Society and its approach to whisky.
