New over-18s venue with crazy golf, street food and cocktails coming to Edinburgh in spring

The Evening News can exclusively reveal that following a successful first year in business, Scotland’s only ‘adults only’ crazy golf venue will come to Edinburgh.

The business which is cheekily named ‘Fore Play’ and opened its first venue in Glasgow in 2018, has confirmed plans that it will open a pop up venue in the Capital during Spring bringing crazy golf, street food and cocktails to a venue which is currently being kept secret in the city.

The business is owned by husband and wife team, Craig and Kasia Neilson.

Kasia said: “It was always part of the plan to create a fast-growth business and to roll out Fore Play across Scotland, but we have definitely been surprised at just how fast things have moved and can’t wait to bring our pop-up to Edinburgh.

“Fore Play Crazy Golf is so much more than just a golf experience.

“We have no doubt that Edinburgh punters will love it too and we’re excited to announce more details about our pop-up in due course.”

The 18 plus venue in Glasgow currently boasts two nine hole Glasgow themed golf courses, a full-service bar and an on-site food vendor.

The interior is awash with graffiti, exposed brick and neon signs, not to mention the resident golf cart, ‘Cartii B’.

Since opening at the tail end of 2018, Fore Play Crazy Golf has celebrated 50,000 customers and a turnover in excess of £600,000 - 20 per cent ahead of their projections.

Food and drink

Their menu on the west coast offers a wide variety of street food including both vegetarian and vegan options such as dishes such as pulled pork loaded fries, BBQ jackfruit loaded fries, hot dogs and burgers.

The drinks list boasts pun-tastic concoctions such as the ‘Sugar Caddy’ and ‘Long Iron Iced Tea’.

The Edinburgh pop up will feature street food from established vendors in the city.

Much like the Glasgow venue, the pop up in the Capital will have a distinctly Edinburgh theme where players can enjoy mini landmark sites around the course.

While putters are encouraged to come along to enjoy a drink and a round of golf, those wishing to visit for a bite to eat and a drink are also welcome.
