Poundland on Edinburgh's Princes Street will stock the Original 1901 Irn Bru from TODAY.

Poundland, which recently opened in the former premises of Currys PC World on Princes Street have announced that the original recipe 1901 Irn Bru will be sold in stores across Scotland from today.

Barr’s research and development experts have worked to “lovingly recreate” the time-old recipe using the modern equipment at Barr’s state-of-the-art factory in Cumbernauld.

The drink will cost £2 and be sold faithfully in traditional glass bottles.

Poundland has also launched its own festive themed pasty to take on high street competitors Greggs.

The store launched its pasty, costing £1 for the 300g pastry, alongside a video claiming it was loved by 'Gregs'.

The bargain shop controversially opened on Princes Street just over two weeks ago.
