Jack Ryan Season 3: release date confirmed, how to watch on Amazon Prime - cast list including John Krasinski

The political action thriller from the Tom Clancy series will return for another season on Amazon Prime.

The adventures of Jack Ryan are set to continue in Season 3 - and Amazon has confirmed its official release date.

John Krasinski, renowned for his role in The Office (2005-2013), will reprise his role as the CIA agent after a three-year hiatus.

The new eight-episode season will hit the streaming platform on Wednesday, December 21 - 38 months following the release of Season 2.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Krasinski wrote: “It’s time! Jack Ryan finally returns on December 21! Here we go!”

Jack Ryan has also been renewed for a fourth season, of which reportedly will be its final season.

According to the official plot summary, Season 3 will see Jack Ryan “on the run and in a race against time.”

It reads: “Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive in the cold.

“Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive, while preventing a massive global conflict.”

Who is in the cast of Jack Ryan Season 3?

John Krasinksi, who also directed A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place 2 (2020), will continue on in his starring role as Jack Ryan.

Returning cast members also include Wendell Pierce, who plays James Greer, and Michael Kelly as Mike November.

According to Den of the Geek and TV Line, Jack Ryan Season 3 will also see the addition of new series regulars, such as Nina Hoss, who played Astrid in Homeland between 2014 and 2017.

The German actress is set to play Alena Kovac, whilst Betty Gabriel (Get Out, Clickbait, The Purge: Election Year) will be Elizabeth Wright.

James Cosmo (Game of Thrones) will play Luca, Peter Guiness (Chernobyl) will star as Petr, Alexej Mavelov (Undercover) as Alexei and Michael Pena (Ant-Man) as Domingo ‘Ding’ Chavez.

How to watch Jack Ryan Season 3

Jack Ryan Season 3 will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on Wednesday, December 21 2022.

In what has become a tradition with the platform, all eight episodes will be available on the day of release, ready to be binge watched.

However, if you have not watched any of the prior seasons or episodes, they are all available to catch up on Prime Video as part of your Amazon Prime subscription.
