There are so many great things that locals used to love doing in Edinburgh which are no longer here, including some of our once favourite shops, restaurants and nightclubs.
There was also the iconic Little Marcos’s soft play centre, Gorgie City Farm, free entry to the Hogmanay street party, the Fun City amusement park and the flumes at “The Commie”.
So take a trip down memory lane and check out some great attractions that are no longer available in Edinburgh.

13. Go shopping at BHS
Brittish Home Stores (BHS) was part of the city centre landscape from 1967 until its closure in 2016. The multi-level department store, pictured in 2008, was a popular destination for Edinburgh shoppers, with the cafe downstairs a nice end to a day of getting dragged around the shops by your mum. | TSPL Photo: National World

14. Chippy tea at Brattisani's
Brattisani's was a family-run fish and chip empire that had two of the best-known Edinburgh restaurants, in Morrison Street near Haymarket, and Newington Road, just round the corner from the Royal Commonwealth Pool. The beloved eateries sadly vanished from the capital in 2004. | TSPL Photo: National World

15. Skateboarding at Bristo Square
The redevelopment of the city centre square meant the removal of many of the raised concrete sections that skateboarders enjoyed. | TSPL Photo: National World

16. A night out at Mood
Established in the early 2000s, the troubled city centre 1,000-capacity modern bar and club at the Omni Centre was busy most weekends, but a string of violent incidents ultimately led to its closure in 2013. | TSPL Photo: National World
