Edinburgh designer Strathberry, which has had their handbags carried by royals, open flagship store on Multrees Walk

An Edinburgh-based brand which gained recognition after their iconic bags were worn by Meghan Markle has opened up their new flagship store on the Capital’s prestigious Multrees Walk.

Strathberry have opened their flagship store on Multrees Walk in time for Christmas

Strathberry, which had its first shop in the Grassmarket in 2013, later opened their boutique on Melville Street but now in time for Christmas, the brand have opened their doors on the Capital’s luxury shopping street.

The new store will stock Strathberry’s latest collections as well as exclusive seasonal pieces.

It also joins existing retail points in London and Shanghai and the knowledgeable team on site will offer a luxury shopping experience that includes both personalisation and gift-wrapping services.

The store is open seven days a week from 10am Monday to Saturday and 11am on Sundays until 6pm each evening with late night shopping extended until 7pm on Thursdays.

The brand gained prominence in 2017 after Meghan Markle made her first official appearance with Prince Harry’s as her fiancé on a trip to Edinburgh.

Kate Middleton carried her new wallet clutch from Strathberry on a trip to Edinburgh with Prince William last Monday December 7.

The minimalist shapes that define the brand’s recognisable aesthetic are all designed in Edinburgh.

Each Strathberry creation is then crafted in Spain using only the best quality Spanish leathers, and take a minimum of 20 hours to create by hand.

Leeanne Hundleby, co-founder said: “We are incredibly excited to open on Multrees Walk and to bring Strathberry into our hometown, and in such a vibrant and exclusive part of the city. This feels like the perfect way to celebrate our Scottish roots and connect with our local customers in a new way.”
