9. The Scotch Whisky Experience
Learning about Scotland's national drink at the Scottish Whisky Experice includes becomimg part of the process while riding in a whisky barrel, plus tastings and a shop. Holly wrote: "So glad we chose to visit as it was such a fun way to spend our afternoon. The ride at the beginning was lots of fun. Our guide Paula was so enthusiastic and had us enthralled. 10. Calton Hill
The various monuments of Calton Hill and the spectacular views of the city it offers make it a winner with both visitors and locals. Steviefull wrote: "On a clear, non-windy day there are fewer better places to view the city from, but the hill has much more to offer than just views - with buildings, monuments and a cannon all to be found." 11. Royal Botanic Garden
Founded in 1670 the Botanics spans 72 acres and is considered one of the finest gardens of its type in the world. Yacob D wrote: "Absolutely incredible gardens. I highly recommend the glasshouses with an immense range of different species of plants all displayed beautifully. It's a fantastic day out and brilliant to get away from the hustle of the city and relax surrounded by astonishing nature." Photo: Canva
12. Edinburgh Gin Distillery
The Edinburgh Gin Distillery offers tours, guided tastings of their various tipples and even the chance to make your own gin to take home.
