Code-breaker to give talk

A CITY pensioner who served at Bletchley Park, the secret Second World War code-breaking facility, is to speak about his experiences this week.

Bill Smith, 86, will give a talk at The Open Door community centre on Morningside Road on Wednesday evening.

Mr Smith, from Morningside, a former post office engineer, was asked to leave Edinburgh during the war to join the team at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire as an intelligence officer, taking a key role in the fight against German attack.
