Cornerstone's temporary home lifted into place at St John's

A MASSIVE crane lifts a 12mx4m Portakabin into place at St John's Church, Princes Street, where it will become the temporary home of the Cornerstone bookshop for the next 18 months. The shop has had to relocate during a £3.5m redevelopment at the church. Lothian Road was partially closed for the cabin '“ donated by Portakabin '“ to be installed.

“It all went very smoothly,” said Amanda Bruce, assistant manager at Cornerstone. “Lots of people stopped to see what was happening. We are delighted with the cabin and look forward to opening on Monday.”
