Edinburgh man jailed for sending sexually-explicit images to schoolgirl on social media apps
Stoddart sent disturbing and sexually-explicit images and video to children
A man who sent sickening sexual images to a vulnerable schoolgirl on a social media app has been jailed.
Declan Stoddart posted pictures of an adult penis to the child along with a series of messages including asking her “You want my baby?” and “If you do get pregnant no one will have to know”.
Stoddart, 23, began contact with the child on Tik Tok before moving the sordid chats with her to the WhatsApp platform.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told the schoolgirl’s mother later became aware of the content on her daughter’s phone and contacted the police.
Stoddart was traced to his home at the Capital’s Southhouse area and arrested and charged.
He pled guilty to causing a child to look at a sexual image and uttering sexual comments to her between January 9 and 16 last year when he appeared from custody earlier this year.
Stoddart returned to the dock for sentencing on Friday where Sheriff Colm Dempsey jailed him for 160 days and placed him on the sex offenders register for seven years.
The sheriff deemed the offences to be so serious he also issued Stoddart with a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
The jail term will run consecutively to a current prison sentence that was imposed earlier this year after he admitted to sending sick footage of a man having sex with a dog to two schoolboys.
Stoddart was given 24 months for sending the depraved animal video and images of his penis to the boys aged 11 and 12 after grooming them while playing Xbox games with them online.
He also sent the children disturbing videos showing him slicing his arms with a knife and told the victims he would commit suicide if they told anyone about what he had sent to them in May 2023.

A sheriff said a victim impact statement from one terrified victim made for “harrowing” reading and the “long term impact on them may never be known”.
Stoddart further admitted to sending footage of him masturbating to who he believed were three young girls and made demands they send him nude pictures of themselves.
Stoddart was in fact speaking to adult decoys connected to the paedophile hunter group Angels of Innocence and he was confronted by members at his flat in May last year.
The court was told his family were then forced to flee the home after an angry mob smashed windows at the property during a protest.
Stoddart was also caught eight indecent images of children stored on his phone and was jailed for all the offences in February this year after previously pleading guilty at the sheriff court.
