Armadale death: Forensics spotted on the scene as police probe death of man

Police investigation underway in West Lothian

A forensics team has today been working at the street where a man died yesterday following reports of an injured man in a quiet West Lothian town.

Police launched a major investigation after a 35-year-old man was found dead at a property at Harestanes Road in Armadale on Saturday morning, September 12.

The street remains taped off today, Sunday, September 13, as the police forensics team and other officers continue to work on the investigation. Officers in white overalls were seen at the scene looking for evidence outside a property.

Police say enquiries are at an early stage and a post-mortem will take place in due course. However, one line of inquiry is that this death may have involved a firearm.

At around 12pm on Saturday, officers received a report of a car on fire in the Netherhouses area, near to Armadale. Police Scotland said they are keeping an open mind, but the incidents are being investigated as linked.

The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services and there were no reports of injuries.
