'Devastated' family of tragic Ian Meldrum issue emotional statement after Corstorphine man killed on Queensferry Road

An emotional tribute has been paid to the man who died after colliding with a car on Queensferry Road.
The statement, released via Police Scotland, says that Ian Meldrum 63, of Corstorphine, will be sorely missed and thanks those who made the effort to help him following the incident.

Hide AdMr Meldrum died after he stepped off a bus and was involved in a collision with a Nissan Note car near the junction with Parkgrove Avenue and Drum Brae North of Queensferry Road, at around 9.10pm yesterday (Tuesday).
The family statement reads: “We are devastated, it is hard to come to terms with the news. Words will not describe how sorely he will be missed.
"We would like to thank those who stopped to help Ian, we are very thankful you were there.”
Sergeant Jennifer Forbes, from the Road Policing Unit in Edinburgh said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Meldrum’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Hide Ad“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident and we would urge anyone who may have seen this collision but have not yet spoken to an officer to come forward.“We are grateful to everyone who has assisted our enquiries so far,”
