Drivers stopped for speeding and use of vehicle with no insurance or MOT in East Lothian

All drivers have been charged with an offence after being stopped for reckless driving.

Two drivers have been charged for speeding and another for travelling in a vehicle with no valid insurance, MOT or tax.

During a speed check on the A1 near to Gladsmuir, two drivers were pulled over after speeding at 95mph and 90mph respectively over the weekend.

Police also stopped a vehicle on the A1 at Dunbar that had no valid insurance, MOT or tax on Saturday, July 25.

The vehicle was seized by officers and all three drivers have been charged with the relevant road traffic legislation and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

The A1 near Gladsmuir has been a hot spot for reckless drivers in the last few months with several motorists facing charges for speeding way above the national speed limit.
