Edinburgh driver who attempted to hide car behind wall found with cannabis

An Edinburgh motorist who attempted to hide his car behind a wall when he spotted police was found with cannabis and gave a positive drug sample, police have said.

Road Policing Scotland tweeted on Sunday, December 8 to say they had stopped the driver the previous night in the Capital.When the driver noticed police behind him, he quickly turned off the road and tried to conceal his vehicle behind a wall.

Safe to say, the police weren't thrown off the scent and after a search of the person and car, cannabis was found.

The driver also provided a positive drug test for cannabis.

He was arrested and his blood sent for analysis.

Writing on Twitter, the Road Policing team said: "Last night #EdinburghRP noticed a car quicky turn off of the road ahead of them.

"The driver tried to hide their car behind a wall! Driver stopped, driver/vehicle searched & cannabis found.

"Driver also provided a positive drugwipe for Cannabis.

"Arrested & blood sent for analysis."
