Four teenagers have been charged after fires were set within an old hospital in East Lothian.

Police in Musselburgh were made aware of the fires within two derelict buildings at Edenhall Hospital on Edenhall Road around 6.40pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Three boys – two aged 15 and one aged 16 –  and a girl aged 14 have been charged in connection and a report will be sent to the relevant authority.

Detective Constable Calum Cross said: “I’d like to assure locals this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We are committed to tackling this kind of behaviour and take appropriate action where incidents are reported and offenders identified.”
