Lothian bus driver ‘hit by stone’ as police launch witness appeal

The incident occurred around 3:50pm on Wednesday (August 10) when the object was thown at the number 48 bus as it travelled along Greenhall Road, near Barleyknowe Place.
The driver and other passengers on the bus were uninjured, but police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Hide AdIn a post on social media, Police Scotland wrote: “Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident, which took place around 3.50pm on Wednesday 10th August where the driver of a number 48, LRT bus travelling along Greenhall Road past Barleyknowe Place Gorebridge was hit by a stone thrown at the bus. Thankfully the driver and no one else was injured.
“Anyone with information regarding the incident or person responsible is urged to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 2286 of 10 August 2022.
“Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
