Man arrested over attempted murder amid reports of an attack with a chainsaw

A man has been arrested in connection with attempted murder.
Officers were called to an address in Rowan Place, Blackburn, last night following reports of a brutal attack.

Hide AdA 35-year-old man is in hospital in Livingston where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Another man, 37, was also injured in the incident.
Police launched a manhunt following the attempted murder and about 24 hours later a 23-year-old man was arrested.
Residents at the time reported a heavy police presence in the area and footage of the incident shows a helicopter circling above the town with its search light on.
In a Blackburn community Facebook page locals claim the man was attacked with a chainsaw.

Hide AdA police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a 35-year-old man in Rowan Place on Wednesday, 6 May, 2020.
“Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance and patience during this enquiry which has seen a number of specialist resources in the Blackburn area."
