Shocked onlookers have described the “horrible” scene where a child and a woman were hit by a car in Edinburgh.
The incident happened in Morningside Road this afternoon when a Kia Picanto mounted a pavement outside St Columba’s Hospice charity shop.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the ongoing incident and onlookers have described the traumatic scenes they witnessed.

A local resident who lives close to where the accident happened arrived within seconds.
He said a small red car had mounted the pavement and hit two people.
The shocked 67-year-old said: "I heard it as I was taking the recycling out. It is just around the corner from me.
"When I got there there were people screaming. It was obvious that the car had mounted the pavement and hit pedestrians.
"People were comforting others.
“They were very upset. It was a horrible thing for anyone to have witnessed."
Zulfu Vural, who runs Quick Bites cafe in Morningside Road, said he rushed to the scene after hearing about the crash, which happened next door to his brother’s barbers.
“A friend told me about the crash and I ran up because it happened right outside my brother’s business,” the 42-year-old said.
“I then saw a child on the ground surrounded by paramedics.
“The car had crashed into the charity shop next door to my brother’s barbers.”
A police spokesman said: Scotland said: “Around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 30 June, 2020, police received a report of a road traffic crash involving a car and two pedestrians outside St Columba’s Hospice charity shop in Morningside Road, Edinburgh.
“A woman and young child have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
“Traffic diversions are in place. Police inquiries are ongoing.”
