One man has been arrested and charged after three people were seriously injured in a rickshaw taxi crash on Saturday.

Police Scotland were called to a report of a collision on the West Approach Road in Edinburgh, at around 10.35pm on May, 1, involving a motor car and a rickshaw taxi.

Three people – the rider and passengers of the rickshaw – were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to the incident and he is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Police Scotland has asked for anyone with information on the incident, including anyone with dash-cam footage or private CCTV footage that could help with the enquiry, to contact them on 101.

The road was closed overnight and it was reopened shortly after 10am on Sunday.
