Man arrested after three-vehicle crash on A702 near Penicuik
A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with traffic offences after a three-vehicle crash on the A702 at Silverburn on Friday, Police Scotland said today.
No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the incident around 3.40pm.
It closed the main route between Edinburgh and M74 cross-Border motorway for nearly two hours.
A police spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called to the report of a three-vehicle road traffic crash on the A702 at Silverburn, near Penicuik, Midlothian, around 3.40pm on Friday April 30.
“A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“The road re-opened around 5.20pm.”
Police Scotland said information it had issued on Friday that the crash had happened further south on the road near West Linton in the Borders was incorrect and the force apologised for the location error.
