A702 West Linton crash: Three-vehicle collision on busy road

Emergency services attended a crash involving three vehicles on the A702 at Silverburn, West Linton.

Crews were called to the incident at about 3.40pm on Friday after reports of injuries – the details of which have not been confirmed.

Fire, police and ambulance services attended.

The road was blocked as emergency services dealt with the incident, but has now reopened.

A police spokesman said: "Emergency services were called to the report of a three vehicle road traffic crash on the A702 at Silverburn, near West Linton, around 3.40pm this afternoon. The road at the scene was blocked for a while however is now fully open. There are no details of injuries at this stage.”

Police Scotland later said information it had issued on Friday that the crash had happened further south on the road near West Linton in the Borders was incorrect and the force apologised for the location error. An update on this story can be found by clicking here.
