"Both Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called but the scene had been cleared by the time we arrived."

Community Tenant’s Group TRIM and Friends of West Pilton posted a picture of the incident, saying that the rubbish that had caught fire had been dumped by a van.

They also said that there were 12 youths in grey hoodies who were throwing fireworks.

Bonfire night is one of the busiest nights of the year for the emergency services, with large fires allegedly breaking out in both Saughton and Sighthill this evening.
