Woman hospitalised and Musselburgh High Street shut during police incident

A woman has been taken to hospital after an incident near Musselburgh High Street this morning, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to Linkfield Road in the town centre, which adjoins the High Street, at around 7:10am amid concerns for the woman’s welfare.

Police Scotland said she was taken to hospital for an assessment, adding that the road had since reopened.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 7:10am on Tuesday 1 December 2020, police received a concern for a person call at Linkfield Road, Musselburgh.

“The road was temporarily closed as emergency services were in attendance.

“The lady has been taken to hospital for assessment.

“The road has been re-opened and the incident has been stood down."
