Patient taken to hospital after Edinburgh road closed both ways to traffic
A patient has been taken to hospital following a medical incident which led to an Edinburgh road being closed for around two hours.
Restalrig Road was closed in both directions at the junction with Cornhill Terrace, near Leith Links, with emergency services on the scene shortly after 9am on Wednesday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service was called at 9.09am on Wednesday, August 26, with an ambulance, two paramedic response cars and a critical care team rushing to the scene.
A patient was then taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, with their current condition unknown.
The road re-opened for northbound traffic at around 11am, with the southbound lane still closed due to roadworks at East Hermitage Place.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 09.09am to attend an incident on Restalrig Road, Edinburgh.
“An ambulance, two paramedic response cars and a critical care team were dispatched to the scene.
“One patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.”
