Edinburgh punter wins more than £11,000 on Hearts v Hibs Premier Sports Cup semi-final
Hampden joy for Edinburgh punter on capital derby cup semi-final
One Edinburgh William Hill punter is more than £11,000 richer after landing a 375/1 Bet Builder on Hibs’ victory over Hearts in the Edinburgh Derby.
The first leg in yesterday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden Park in Glasgow came in when Martin Boyle equalised for Hibs in the 19th minute. Jordi Altena’s yellow card and a second Hibs goal then ticked off three of the five selections before half-time.
The second half was goalless, but Miguel Chaiwa’s booking in the 78th minute all but sealed the payout. Hearts’ eighth corner then completed the 375/1 Bet Builder, returning £11,280 from a £30 stake.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Edinburgh Derby day is a massive day for Hearts and Hibs fans, but this one was even bigger for one Edinburgh-based punter whose shrewd Bet Builder returned at 375/1.
“Two first-half Hibs goals, including Martin Boyle’s equaliser, and Jordi Altena’s booking had three legs of the five-fold done before the half-time whistle.
“While the second half was goalless, Miguel Chaiwa’s yellow in the 78th minute had them on the brink, and when Hearts’ corners sailed past the 7.5 corners needed, they were over the line and £11,280 richer.
“Edinburgh Derby day doesn’t get much sweeter than that.”
Winning Bet Details: Martin Boyle to score, Jordi Altena to be carded, Hibernian over 1.5 goals, Miguel Chaiwa to be carded, Hearts over 7.5 corners. Total stake: £30. Total return: £11,280.
