Officers targeted with fireworks after road blocked by Bonfire Night yobs

Fireworks have been aimed at police officers and fires set in the south of Edinburgh during Bonfire Night disorder.

A police helicopter was spotted circling the Colinton Mains, Oxgangs and Firrhill areas of the city on Thursday evening amid local reports of antisocial behaviour.

Police Scotland said officers were called to Oxgangs Road North at about 5.30pm after receiving a report of a group of youths blocking the road.

It’s understood youths were riding bikes while throwing fireworks.
