Multiple arrests including boy aged 12 after 'dangerous' behaviour at FLY Festival in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens
Police said that the investigation into disorder is continuing with officers tracing those involved
A number of people, including a 12-year-old boy, have been arrested so far following “dangerous” behaviour at a city centre music festival.
Thousands descended on Princes Street Gardens on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 as FLY Festival took place at the Ross Bandstand.
The two-day electronic and house music event returned to the open air venue for its 10th anniversary edition.

Police Scotland said that while the majority of attendees were “in good spirits”, officers were faced with number of issues including youths attempting to breach the perimeter fencing and anti-social behaviour such as vandalism and assault.
The force also said that some individuals without tickets also trespassed on the nearby railway line, while bus transport on Princes Street was also disrupted during various incidents.
Three teenage boys, aged 15, 17, and 18, and a 27-year-old man were arrested on Saturday (September 12) in connection with assault, breach of the peace, and misuse of drugs.
The following day, a 12-year-old child was arrested in connection with similar offences, alongside two 18-year-old males and a 20-year-old man.
Police Scotland said that reports will be submitted to the relevant authorities.
Enquiries are also ongoing into the disorder at the event and those with information or footage are being asked to come forward to assist the investigation.
Superintendent Neil Wilson said: “While the majority of people came along to the event in good spirits and without incident, there were others intent on gaining entry without tickets, involved in disorder and violence, and trespassing on the railway line. Bus transport was also disrupted as officers dealt with various incidents.
“This type of behaviour is unacceptable, dangerous and will not be tolerated. Everyone should be able to attend the city centre without fear of intimidation or harm at the hands of those who cannot conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.
“While there have been eight arrests, further enquiries are ongoing to trace others involved in the disorder. I’d appeal to anyone who has information or footage which could assist us to come forward.”
