Nicola Sturgeon says ‘essential safety work’ was carried out and the house is ‘not being used as a residence’

Ian Munro

They're getting it ready as an Airbnb.

Scott Robertson

But the house is an official residence to the FM. If she wants people to follow the rules, why would she travel from Glasgow every day when she can go to and from the house that comes with her job 10 minutes along the road, yet she travels through Edinburgh, West Lothian, Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

Daniel Gaddini

After what they spent at the Palace, folk have a cheek.

She doesn’t actually need to do a daily briefing. Stats could be read out on the lunchtime news instead of using this as a political platform.

Atholl Cunningham

So she has an official residence in Edinburgh but goes home to Glasgow daily to which I doubt she drives herself. Who is paying for that unless her husband picks her up after work?

Patrick Hogg

Painting does not assist "safety"!

Lee-Anne Munro

So a listed building that is unoccupied needed essential repairs - no decorating or painting was carried out just the essential work on a ceiling to make it safe. And people are moaning? Get a grip.

Border closure

Environment Secretary George Eustice has said that the action is being “considered” over a possible full UK border shutdown

The UK government are continuing to drag their heels and protect us all! If lockdown is eased and the borders are still open we will be back to another lockdown very quickly.

Mac Sam

Should have been done in March, then we would be like other countries! It’s only taken 10 months!

Ellen Earl

They should be closed – it should have happened last year.

Kristine Robinson

Well that won't happen, Boris’s dad needs his holidays.

Jamil Chaudry

We were in lockdown in March, why didn’t they close the borders then, including flights? Back then if a full land and air lockdown had be implemented we would have been in much better position and a lot of people would still be alive. I These idiots didn’t have the courage to do so.

Catherine Whiting

Too late, Boris is the laughing stock of the world.

Lian Miller

My seven-year-oldy daughter asked why we couldn't have done the same as New Zealand and stopped the planes! There’s no explanation that's good enough to answer this.

Alexandra Ure McMurdo Mackinnon

The virus was already here last March. The new variant is coming from abroad, use your head.

Coronavirus payment

Hard-pressed healthcare workers in Scotland are to receive a £500,000 boost from the Scottish Government for hot drinks and snacks in order to help them rest and relax

Leeann Hayes

I can make my own tea thanks, just pay better wages.

Denise Clarke

I’m all for NHS, but what about shop workers? They have worked through this, as have bin men, postmen, delivery drivers builders etc. Don’t they deserve recognition?

Angela Mcdermott

I’m sure they would rather have a massage or something akin to that to help them relax, instead of a hot drink and a snack.

Dorothy Paul

Wonderful and much appreciated!

A great idea; these great people need all the help they can get during this hard time.

Peter Nosdlanod

When do the staff get to sit down in a canteen or coffee shop? What about night shift canteens being shut? Is it it paid in to health boards etc? Take months for money to be passed down, why not treat them with respect?

William Dow

Can the FM please clarify where this £500,000 came from and what is was initially intended for?

Ian Munro

NHS staff are doing a great job, but they have not lost out financially like others who have lost jobs or seen take home pay cut. This is a gimmick when she should be addressing the more important issue of small business owners, hairdressers, taxi drivers etc who have suffered financially.
