Zoom to Groom is calling for single people from the Capital to join them as they search for love.

The concept is simple, singletons are set up on three 90 second speed dates via video call with three possible matches. The dates are broadcast live on air on Saturday nights from 10pm.

Zoom to Groom became a cult online hit after married dad-of-three Andy Dunlop, from Darvel, decided to create some home entertainment during lockdown with his own virtual pub, The Stayin’ Inn.

From Mondays to Fridays he hosts pub quizzes for charity, hitting more than 100,000 participants and raising in excess of £50,000 so far for various causes. But on Saturday nights he decided to do something different, and Zoom to Groom was born.

Andy, who also hosts the show, explains, “Zoom to Groom started as a group chat with friends about how difficult dating was going to be during lockdown. We could never have anticipated how popular it would become. From the start it was clear people loved watching it, as well as taking part.”

The show caught the eye of BAFTA-winning Scottish producer/director Hannah Currie, who came on board to launch series two of Zoom to Groom with a revamped look and some unexpected twists and turns.

Episode 1 and 2 of the new series have each already reached more than 10,000 viewers.

Hannah says, “My friends told me about Zoom to Groom so I tuned in and honestly it was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all year, never mind in lockdown. I reached out to Andy about developing the show for a bigger audience and the buzz just keeps growing and growing.”

Single people who want to apply just need to fill out a simple online application form and join the Zoom To Groom community on social media.
