Known as the 'Honest Toun' Musselburgh is perfect for a day trip, whether that be taking a stroll down the High Street, visiting the town's harbour, playing golf on what is believed to be the world's oldest course or having a flutter at the Racecourse (pictured).

7. Conifox Adventure Park
The adventure park at Kirkliston includes a 9-hole Footgolf course, Pedal Go-Karts, Off-Road Pedal Tractors, Kid’s Pedal Tractor Farm, Springers, Giant Jump Pillow, Trampolines, Swings, Balance Beams, Rope Bridge, a maze and a flying fox. The park also features the The Fetching Fox gastropub to grab a bite to eat after a fun day.

8. Scottish Owl Centre
The Scottish Owl Centre at Polkemmet Park near Whitburn features more than 140 owls, daily all-weather flying displays, hands-on education features, hold an owl photo opportunities, an adventure playground, picnic area and gift shop.
