With City of Edinburgh Council estimating that there was 169 hotels in the city in 2019, and luxury hotels appearing to be more popular than ever in the Capital, we’ve taken a look at Edinburgh’s most popular hotels according to Tripadvisor online reviews.
Some of the hotels we found were incredibly high-end, with boutique hotels appearing on the list, as well as the top two both being on water down the Shore in Leith.
5. The Lane Hotel
The Lane Hotel was built in 1871 and was once a grand Victorian house. In 2017 the house was transformed into a luxurious boutique hotel with six, bedrooms designed to accommodate all your needs. 6. Hotel Ceilidh-Donia
Out of 1,370 reviews on Tripadvisor, this hotel at Marchhall Crescent received 1,024 'excellent' reviews and 292 'very good' reviews. Rooms start from £120. Photo: Google
7. Wilde Aparthotels By Staycity - Grassmarket
With rooms starting from £268, this brand-new 128-room aparthotel situated off King Stable's Road offers a range of design-led studio, one and two-bedroom apartments. 912 out of its 1,098 reviews were 'excellent'. Photo: Google
8. Cheval Old Town Chambers
Located on the Royal Mile next to the city chambers, Cheval Old Town Chambers has received 1,677 reviews marked 'excellent' out a total of 2,001 reviews. The 74 luxurious apartments range in size from studios to three-bedrooms, and include spectacular penthouses and a 15th-century two-bedroom townhouse with its own front door.
