5. St John's Curry Club
Evening News trainee reporter Annabelle Gauntlett chose this renowned Corstorphine Indian restaurant and takeaway as her favourite in the city. She said: "It’s easy to see why this restaurant and takeaway has won so many awards and is always busy, the food is to die for! There are so many delicious dishes to choose from, which makes placing an order the only hard thing about eating there." Photo: Ian Georgeson
6. Gautam's
Lifestyle editor Gary Flockhart chose this Abbeyhill Indian & Nepalese restaurant and takeaway as his favourite in Edinburgh. He said: "Gautam’s is my go-to place for an Indian meal - so much so, I even order takeaway from them on Christmas Day. They do the best garlic nan bread in town, and my favourite main course is the tandoori chicken tikka, which is always well-spiced and succulent. The tandoori king prawns are to die for too, and, truth told, I’ve never had a bad meal from this place, whether sitting in at their newly-refurbished restaurant or getting a home delivery."
