Edinburgh tops the charts with most accessible and most free public toilets in whole of UK

Edinburgh has been named number one in the UK for having the most free and accessible public toilets, new research has shown.

With coronavirus lockdown restrictions cautiously lifting, people are leaving their homes and getting out and about more.

In light of this, new research has been conducted to find the best places for public toilets in the UK.

Edinburgh topped two of the lists with the most free public toilets, and the most accessible public toilets.

The Capital has 117 public toilets, with 115 of them free and only two requiring payment.

Glasgow is fourth on the list of free public toilets, with 76.7% of them free to use.

69.2% of public toilets across the city have easy access, with 30.8% without. This is the best in the UK.

Glasgow is ninth on this list with 18.6% of its public toilets made accessible.

The research, compiled by PlumbNation uses data from The Great British Public Toilet Map.
