The street food pizza company, who currently have a takeaway spot on Forrest Road and a sit-down restaurant at Hunter Square, got Portobello locals excited after they displayed a huge 'coming soon' banner on the side of Noble's amusements on the promenade.

Now, the Evening News can confirm that the popular pizza parlour will indeed be opening a new branch in Portobello next year.

Owner Michele Civiera told us: “There's no set date for the opening due to the restrictions on hospitality, but it will be early next year.

“It's going to be similar to the branch at Forrest Road, and we'll be based out of Noble's amusements.

“This is exactly what the area needs – a New York slice parlour on the beach – and we'll be creating lots of jobs.”

A Porty local himself, Michele added: "It's a dream come true for me to be able to do this in my own neighbourhood.

“The new Civerinos will be right beside my son's school, and it was spending all my time down the promenade during lockdown that gave me the idea.

“Like many locals, I've been wanting somewhere to go with the kids at night – and this will be perfect for families.

“We're planning to sell £1 pizza slices to the local kids after school, and we will also be offering a discount to Portobello locals.”
