Haddington incident: Driver reported for traffic offences as bus comes off road in East Lothian

A driver has been reported for traffic offences after an East Coast bus came off the road outside of Haddington.

The bus, a 104, was leaving the town and heading towards Gladsmuir when it left the road on the A199.

The police have closed the road as the bus is moved. There are no reports of injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50am on Tuesday, 15 June, 2021, police received report of a one-vehicle crash on the A199 near Haddington, in which a bus has left the road.

"No-one is injured and the road is closed to allow for recovery of the bus.

"The 49-year-old female driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for a road traffic offence.”

Spokesperson for East Coast Buses said: “We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in an accident and we are assisting Police Scotland with their enquiries.”
