The pair of posters, which were attached to the railings close to the bridge on Saunders Street, were spotted by a resident of the area during their daily exercise.

The original poster, which was first spotted on Tuesday, alludes to a "missing" toilet roll which was last seen on Hamilton Place and answers to the name of "Andrex".

The unknown person who created the sign then jokingly states there's a reward for finding it due to its sentimental value.

The resident who first noticed it - who wishes not to be named due to fearing for the safety of the aforementioned toilet roll - said that another sign was then added on Thursday evening.

The ransom note, created in classic film style with cut out magazine letters, details what will happen to "Andrex" if 50 gallons of hand sanitiser are not left under Dean Bridge by 10pm on Friday.

Describing the signs as "a much-needed bit of fun" in these trying times, the resident who shared the photographs said that they are going to return this evening during their daily run to see if a response has been posted.
