and live on Freeview channel 276
The Royal Air Force planes – known for their aerobatic displays and red, white and blue trails – are expected to roar over the city at about 7pm.
A notice to airmen (NOTAM) - a notice filed by an aviation authority to alert pilots to potential hazards along a flight route or location that could affect flight safety - has been issued and this is a mandatory requirement for a flypast.
It is understood the planned flyover could be a legacy from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
The Red Arrows were scheduled to pass over the Capital on August 15 as part of the 75th VJ Day commemorations before flying on to Belfast, Cardiff and London. The event was organised to commemorate VJ Day on August 15, 1945 - the day World War Two ended with Japan's surrender after the US dropped two atomic bombs in the country, killing 214,000 people.
