But Josh Taylor has probably been upstaged a bit in his latest training footage at Lochend Boxing Club.

The funny video shows the Prestonpans fighter working on the punch bag before the camera pans to 'Big Chu' the dog who looks decidedly unimpressed.

Big Chu belongs to Jackie and Terry McCormack, who run the club, and is a Canadian Eskimo dog (rare indigenous breed of Canada) who Terry describes as "very fit."

Terry said: "He runs marathons with my wife."

The video has been shared on the Lochend Boxing Club Facebook page alongside the words 'Big Chu keeping an eye on the Champ.'

Josh Taylor made Scottish boxing history after becoming a double world champion at London's 02 Arena at the end of October.

He defeated the previously unbeaten American Regis Prograis by a majority decision, winning the Ring Magazine belt and World Boxing Super Series' Muhammad Ali Trophy in the process.

He holds both the IBF and WBA super lightweight titles and is the first Scot to do so since the great Ken Buchanan in 1971.

Josh has said previously that he would love to fight next in Scotland, either at Edinburgh Castle or Easter Road.

Big Chu has actually featured in the Evening News previously when he was pictured down at Eddie's Dogwash in Restalrig Road getting a 'dogwash.'
