FlixBus boosts coach services from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and Dundee with 16 new daily buses

New route launching this month linking Edinburgh with the granite city

Long-distance coach brand FlixBus is increasing services from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and Dundee later this month.

FlixBus will add Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes to its Scottish network for the first time, with up to 16 departures per day for each destination on the new 095 route between Aberdeen and Edinburgh from November 23.

The boost, delivered with operating partner McGill’s Buses, brings 18 daily services in each direction between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, giving passengers even more choice of direct departures.

The expansion follows an increase in cross-border services between Scotland and England in August and a new FlixBus shop at Edinburgh Bus Station.

Shamil Maindiratta, managing director of FlixBus UK, said: “As part of our long-term strategy for growth in Scotland, we’re giving Edinburgh more services to Aberdeen and Dundee, as well as new destinations in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, with our trusted partner McGill’s.

“Together, we’re making affordable, reliable and sustainable long-distance travel available to even more residents and visitors to Scotland, with journeys for less than a fiver.”
