. Elise Christie
Elise Christie was born in Livingston, and went to school at St Margaret's Academy in Livingston. She was originally a figure skater but took up speed skating when she was around 12 years old. Now retired, she is ten times a European gold medallist, including two overall European titles in 2015 and 2016. In the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam she won world titles in the 1000m and 1500m events, as well as the overall gold, the first British woman and first European woman to do so. 5. Frankie Corio
Frankie Corio, a 13-year-old schoolgirl from Livingston, has been widely praised for her role in the Oscar-nominated film Aftersun. And after the teenager picked up Best Young British/Irish actor at the Critics Circle Awards in London on Sunday night, Hollywood star Blanchett was among the first to congratulate her, alongside Florence Pugh and Michelle Yeoh. 6. Lewis Capadi
The Whitburn singer has gone on to become one of the biggest pop stars on the planet in recent years. The Someone You Loved hitmaker was named on the ‘Young Music Rich List’ after amassing a £19 million fortune – just a couple of years after complaining that he was ‘skint’. Photo: Third Party

8. The Snuts
In 2021, the four-piece, from Whitburn scored a number one with their debut album WL - and in doing so they denied US pop star Demi Lovato the crown after a closely-fought race. Titled WL, the album pays tribute to the Whitburn Loopy, the trouble-makers and youths from their hometown, and was backed in the race for number one by fellow chart-topping Scot Lewis Capaldi.
