Xander Irvine: Funeral for Edinburgh boy, 3, killed on Morningside Road to be held on Thursday
The funeral for ‘happy, bubbly, intelligent little boy’ Xander Irvine who was tragically killed in a crash on Morningside Road on the afternoon of Tuesday 30 June is to be held tomorrow morning.
A private service followed by a burial will take place at 11:30am tomorrow (July 9) at Morningside Cemetery.

Hide AdTomorrow, Xander’s funeral cortege will be passing through Morningside Road at approximately 11am on route to the cemetery for Edinburgh residents to pay their respects and the family have asked that as many people as possible from local homes and businesses to line the street to say goodbye to the little boy.
On June 30, Xander and his 37-year-old mother Victoria were out on a walk on Morningside Road when they were both struck by a car which mounted the pavement and crashed into a shop front.
Both were taken to hospital however Xander suffered fatal injuries. The 91-year-old driver of the red Kia motor was uninjured.
At the charity shop where the crash occurred, hundreds of bouquets of flowers, toys and messages of condolence have been laid in tribute which will be moved to his graveside after the funeral.

Hide AdIn a statement Xander's parents, Victoria and Paul, said they "feel as if their hearts have been ripped out".
Last week they thanked the paramedics, police, fire and rescue service and members of the public for their help at the scene of the accident.
A fundraiser set up for the family of the toddler has seen donations of more than £24,000 flood in. Should any members of the public wish to make donations they can do so to the GoFundMe page where Victoria and Paul will choose a charity to donate to to help those in need.
