Roads closed and houses without water after major pipe burst in Livingston

Livingston residents have been warned of disruptions to the mains water supply in the EH54 area this morning after a burst water main near Cousland Road.

Cousland Road and the A899 Livingston Road are closed because of flooding caused by the burst pipe.

Scottish Water warned that some households do not have any water, while others may have low water pressure or water that is discoloured.

West Lothian Police are currently on the scene of the burst pipe near Cousland Road.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: "Customers in Livingston have reported an interruption to their water supply.

"We are currently on the way to investigate the issue and are aiming to be on site as soon as possible.

"While we investigate, please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low/intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.

"We are considering alternative ways to supply your water while we identify the issue.
