Family of Edinburgh woman Vikki Soloman speak of 'irreplaceable loss' after devoted mum's death
Family of murdered Edinburgh mum call death of Lee Greenan “another bitter blow”
The family of Vikki Soloman have spoken of their “irreplaceable loss” after the devoted mother-of-two died from serious injuries sustained in a ‘disturbance’.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, the family said they have been “deeply moved and overwhelmed” by the support shown to them since Ms Soloman’s death at a property in East Craigs last Monday.
The statement said: “Following the heartbreaking loss of Vikki Soloman, her family is deeply moved and overwhelmed by the wave of love and supportive messages which brings great comfort at this devastating time.
"The community's solidarity provides the family great strength as they feel the profound loss and grief of losing Vikki, taken so young and in such tragic circumstances. The loss of a devoted mother has left an irreplaceable loss.”

But the family said they were dealt “another bitter blow” when Lee Greenan, Ms Soloman’s former partner who had been charged with her murder, was found dead in his cell at HMP Edinburgh on Sunday. Police Scotland said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
The family said: "Furthermore, news of the passing of Lee Greenan, the man charged with her murder, is another bitter blow to the family. The family remains determined to pursue justice for Vikki.”
The statement continued: "Their primary focus now is on her two children and are committed to ensuring they are safe, supported and surrounded by their mother’s lasting legacy of love.
"The family kindly asks for privacy as they grieve and focus on supporting the boys. Details of funeral arrangements will be shared in due course."
Emergency services rushed to reports of a ‘disturbance’ in East Craigs at around 8.45pm on Monday, July 20.
Ms Soloman, a 44-year-old aesthetician, was found with serious injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Greenan, 46, was charged with her murder and appeared in court on Thursday where he made no plea. He was set to appear in court later this week.
In the days following Ms Soloman’s death, tributes flooded in from across the community. Friends called her “the most beautiful woman inside and out”.
One friend, Michelle Hogg said she was “still trying to process” the news of her death.
She said: “I can’t believe what’s happened to you my darling girl. We are absolutely heartbroken you did not deserve this, the most beautiful woman inside and out. Still trying to process this news today.”

A fundraiser launched on Monday has already raised more than £9500 for Vikki’s young sons Jude and Reece. In an emotional tribute to the popular aesthetician, Karen Lennen – who set up the fundraiser – said the “devoted and amazing” mother had “dedicated her life to providing for her sons”.
She said: “Watching them grow into the wonderful young men they are today brought her immense joy and pride. To Vikki, the boys and everyone grieving: you will never walk alone.
“Her tragic passing has left an unimaginable void in their lives and placed an overwhelming burden on the boys as they try to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.
“As they grieve the loss of their beloved mum, we want Reece and Jude to be surrounded by as much love and support as possible. We also want to do everything we can to help relieve the financial burden they now face.”
Ms Soloman’s family confirmed that details of funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
