York Place shut going westbound between Broughton Street and Elder Street on Friday 15 November and will remain closed until Sunday 1 December to allow for the final touches to the new road layout.

The Council-run Edinburgh Travel Twitter account tweeted to warn travellers of the congestions, saying: "Leith Walk/Picardy area is busy but definitely better than it was on Monday.

"Long queues / delays on Regent Road / Waterloo Place again though."
