The cause of the disruption was found to be a burst water main, which also caused major flooding on Cousland Road.

The road was closed and West Lothian Police were called out to assist with redirecting traffic.

Water returned to most properties around 4.30pm, but due to 'complications on-site' with repairs some were still without water at 8.30pm.

Scottish Water reported this morning that the issue has been resolved and water has returned to all properties.
