Officers were called to a report of a road crash on the M8 eastbound near J3 Blackburn at around 7.10am today
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that officers are in attendance at the scene.
Traffic Scotland urged drivers to take care in the area, and warned them that traffic is slowing on approach.
It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if anyone was seriously injured.
