Another mini heatwave is on the way to the UK, with Edinburgh residents set to enjoy sunshine and high temperatures next week.

Barbecues and beach towels were out in full force at the beginning of April as the country basked in a week of beautiful weather. And it’s set to make a return before the month is out, with temperatures set to hit 21 degrees in the Scottish capital next week.

Wednesday is currently predicted to be the hottest day, with bright sun set to bring temperatures of 21 degrees in the afternoon. Tuesday will bring similar temperatures, but the Met Office predicts that it will be a slightly cloudier day.

Monday and Thursday are also set to be sunny days with temperatures of 19 degrees.

Hundreds flocked to Edinburgh’s green spaces and Portobello beach at the beginning of this month, when temperatures climbed to 16 degrees. The weather continued over the next week, with a wildfires warning having been issued.
