Edinburgh weather: More snow predicted for the Capital as a yellow weather warning remains in place

The Met Office has predicted icy cold weather and more snow for Edinburgh as the yellow weather warning remains in place.

Wednesday will see a bright morning with less than five percent rain.

Sleet will hit at around 4pm and although temperatures will reach highs of 1C, the Met Office warn that it will feel like -3C outside.

Thursday morning will see more snow which is predicted to start falling around 8am through until around 10am where it will turn into light rain.

It will feel like it is -4C though it will reach heights of 4C as we move into Thursday evening.

The yellow weather warning will remain in place throughout Wednesday and Thursday, ending on Thursday afternoon around 2pm.

A statement on the Met Office website warns: “Snow arriving from the north later Wednesday, moving south through Thursday morning may lead to some travel disruption.

"Showers are likely to merge into an area of rain, sleet and snow which is expected to move south across parts of eastern Scotland.

"Snow at low levels will quickly turn to rain across Scotland during early Thursday.”

The Met Office has also warned that people should take care if they are planning on travelling as there may be delays on roads and railways.

Pedestrians should also be wary as footpaths could be slippy.

Edinburgh was treated to snow for the first time in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and residents in the Capital delighted in running out and making the most of it.
