Edinburgh weather: Sunny start forecast for the new week ahead as temperatures rise

Sunshine and rising temperatures are on the weather menu for Edinburgh this coming week, according to the Met Office.

While the sun has been shining on and off the past few days, temperatures have dropped, with a top temperature of 14C forecast for today, Sunday, May 28, amid sunny intervals. However, temperatures are forecast to rise in the coming days with the sun shining for longer in Edinburgh as May comes to an end.

On Monday, May 29, sunny intervals are predicted from first thing until 6pm when it is then meant to turn sunny for the rest of the day. And although the temperature is expected to be just 10C at 7am, it will quickly rise to 16C by 12noon. It will then reach a high of 18C between 3pm and 6pm before it gradually drops to 14C by 9pm.

On Tuesday, May 30, the sun is forecast to shine all day in Edinburgh, with the temperature starting at 11C at 7am, rising to a top temperature of 19C by 4pm, before going down to 13C at 10pm.

And, on Wednesday, May 31, the Met Office is predicting the Capital will again enjoy warm temperatures, hitting a high of 17C, with sunny intervals forecast for first thing, before any cloud clears by lunchtime and the sun is expected to shine for the rest of the day.
