West Lothian fire crews rush to blazes near the B9080 between Threemiletown and Bridgend

Firefighters are currently tackling two blazes near Threemiletown in West Lothian.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crew are in attendance at a barn fire between Threemiletown and Bridgend.

Firefighters are also currently fighting a blaze in a field near the B9080.

The two fires are not thought to be connected.

A SFRS spokesperson said: “There’s a significant number of firefighters in the area at present.”

Regarding the barn fire, a spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.07am on Wednesday, 10 August to reports of a barn on fire at Gateside Farm, Linlithgow, West Lothian.

“Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the scene. Crews continue to tackle the blaze.”

Firefighters were called to two fires in West Lothian on Wednesday afternoon.

With regards to the fire in a field, a SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.58am on Wednesday, 10 August to reports of a fire in a field in the Linlithgow area of West Lothian.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene and crews quickly extinguished the blaze.” “

There are no casualties."
